Espimodel 2010 & My Wargaming Table

Lembrei-me de recuperar umas fotos da última presença da Brigada Tripeira na exposição de modelismo em Espinho, a Espimodel,  no ano passado, como uma forma de expôr algumas fotos da mesa de jogo que utilizo para jogar WWII.

São placas em MDF de 30x30cm, com cenário apropriado para 10/12mm ou para a escala de 1/144.

O casario é da Hovels, Pendraken, Field Works, Time Cast, "Recuerdos" de lojas chinesas e Scratch.

Espero que gostem das "vistas".

I remembered to retrieve some photos from last Brigada Tripeira presence in the modeling expo in the city of Espinho, The Espimodel, last year, as a way to expose some photos from the table that I use to play WWII.
I use MDF boards of 30x30cm, with appropriate setting for 10/12mm or to 1/144 scale.
The houses are from Hovels, Pendraken, Field Works,TimeCast, Chinese shops "Souvenirs" and Scratch.
Hope you enjoy the "views".

Agora é a vez de apresentar as unidades montadas do meu exército Imperial Romano.

As figuras continuam a ser da Corvus Belli e da Essex em 15mm em bases para jogar AWE Arcane e DBA.

Os decalques dos escudos são caseiros.

Exército Romano Clássico - Classical Roman Army Part I

Regressando ao "chumbo", lembrei-me de colocar aqui, algumas fotos dos meus "velhinhos" Romanos.

Já participaram em jogos de DBA em França, Itália e Espanha.

Agora estão colocados em bases para as regras AWE - ABC (Arcane Warfare).

São figuras em 15mm do excelente fabricante galego CORVUS BELLI, os decalques são caseirinhos.

Tenho um especial carinho por este exército, porque foram as minhas primeiras figuras desta marca.

Returning to "lead", I remembered to put here, some pictures of my "oldies " Romans.
They have participated in games of DBA in France, Italy and Spain.
Now they are placed into bases for the rules of ABC - AWE (Arcane Warfare).
These 15mm figures are from the excellent Galician manufacturer CORVUS BELLI, and the decals are home made.
I have a special affection for this army because they were my first figures of this brand.

Artilharia Austríaca Napoleónica - Napoleonic Austrian Artillery 1/72

Agora apresento-vos umas figuras pintadas à cerca de 10/12 anos, que representam a Artilharia utilizada nas Guerras Napoleónicas pelo exército Austríaco.

Considero que são as melhores figuras da HaT dessa época, na minha opinião claro.

Também me parece ser o único set de figuras que representam a artilharia austríaca, com os respectivos artilheiros na escala de 1/72.

Now I present you some figures painted about 10-12 years ago, representing the Artillery used in the Napoleonic Wars by the Austrian army.
I believe they are the best figures from HaT at the time, in my opinion of course.
I also believe that's the only set of figures representing the Austrian artillery, with their complete crew in 1/72 scale.

The Prussian Commander and his faithful companion

By 1815 Prussia had suffered much in the wars with Napoleon, but was still very eager to see the destruction of the French dictator before he could regain his strength. Their presence in the Low Countries meant they had their opportunity, and despite the reverse at Ligny they were crucial to the ultimate victory at Waterloo, a battle characterised largely by the Allied army under Wellington holding fast and waiting for the arrival of the Prussians.

The Battle of Waterloo and The Royal Scots Greys and Sergeant Charles Ewart

At around 2pm Major General Ponsonby’s Union Brigade of heavy dragoons (the 1st Royal Dragoons, 2nd Royal Scots Greys and 6th Inniskilling Dragoons) charged D’Erlon’s infantry columns as they reached the British line.

As the Greys passed the 92nd Gordon Highlanders, the Gordons attempted to advance with them, holding the trooper’ stirrups.

The charge built up momentum and the British “Heavies” launched themselves on the French infantry, the Greys shouting “Scotland for ever”.

Sergeant Charles Ewart of the Greys rode at the eagle bearer of the 45th Infantry. He cut down the four escorts and the eagle bearer and bore the eagle away.

The Union Brigade cut through the French and, now out of control, continued the charge up the far incline to the French guns, where they sabred numbers of gunners in Ney’s battery. The British were counter-attacked by French Lancers and suffered such heavy casualties as to eliminate the brigade from the battle. The brigade commander General Ponsonby was killed.

As the Duke of Wellington grumblingly complained “the British cavalry never know when to stop charging”.

The Greys adopted the captured French eagle as the regiment’s badge. It is still the badge of the present regiment: the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

The Emperor Napoleon is said to have commented of the regiment, “Ah ces terribles chevaux gris”.
The rest of the British Army wryly gave the Scots Greys the nickname of “the Bird Catchers”.
The Royal Dragoons also captured an eagle during the charge, that of the 105th Regiment.
