Infantaria Escocesa - Highlander Infantry - Italeri

I was searching in my figures boxes forgotten in the closet and found these "Highlanders" in 1/72 painted more than 10 years ago.
Now when considering these figures, the painting job is still a bit naive that these figures present. At that time I was taking the first steps in the painting of soldiers from the Napoleonic period. Of course, if I paint them now, would be with a more refined finish.
However I have some nostalgia when playing this scale with the rules, "the French are coming".

El Alamein - La linea del fuoco - El Alamein - the line of fire

War seen through the eyes of Serra, a university student from Palermo who volunteers in 1942 to fight in Africa. He is assigned to the Pavia Division on the southern line in Egypt. Rommel and the Axis forces are bogged down; it's October, the British prepare an offensive. At first, boredom, heat, hunger, and thirst bedevil the Italians; then the Brits attack, and there's no luck or heroism in death. Finally, it's retreat in confusion. Serra, his sergeant Rizzo, and his lieutenant Fiori take a last walk toward home. It's said that each soldier gets three miracles; when Serra's are used up, what then?

The Parachute Regiment has its origins in the force set up by the British Army at the request of Winston Churchill. The UK was inspired in the creation of airborne forces (including the Parachute Regiment, Air Landing Regiments, and the Glider Pilot Regiment) by the example of the German Luftwaffe's Fallschirmjäger, which had a major role in the invasions of Norway, and the Low Countries, and a pivotal, if Pyrrhic, one in the invasion of Crete.
The UK's first airborne assault took place on 10 February 1941, when, what was then known as II Special Air Service (some 40 men of 500 trained in parachuting), introduced themselves to the enemy by jumping into Italy and blowing up an aqueduct in a daring raid named Operation Colossus.
After the German's successful invasion of Crete, it was agreed by the British Chiefs of Staff that the UK would need far more paratroopers for similar operations. No. 2 Commando were tasked with specialising in airborne assault and became the nucleus of the Parachute Regiment.

SU-76M Russian SPG - from Pithead

My first Pithead vehicles painting job.

(Samokhodnaya Ustanovka 76)

The SU-76 was based on a lengthened and widened version of the T-70 tank chassis. Its simple construction made it the second most produced Soviet armoured vehicle of World War II, after the T-34 tank.
